I’m seeing a lot of mixed reviews about Lemonade pet insurance. Some folks online have had great experiences with quick claim resolutions and reimbursements, while others, like the original poster in one thread, report drastic premium increases after a year and denials of legitimate claims. It seems like there’s a real divide in customer satisfaction. So, I’m curious, has anyone else had a surprisingly good or bad experience with Lemonade pet insurance, and what was the outcome when you really needed them?

I initially chose Lemonade because their premium was only $21.48 a month for 90% reimbursement and $20,000 annual coverage for my Yorkie, which seemed better than other quotes. So far, I haven’t had to file a claim, but hearing these stories makes me wonder if it’s truly “too good to be true”.

For my cat’s emergency where he ate a foreign object costing several thousand dollars, Lemonade approved my claim within four days and covered everything minus my deductible and coinsurance. I was really nervous after reading negative reviews, but my experience showed they paid out a significant amount quickly.

I had a terrible experience where Lemonade rejected my cat’s ear infection claim because he had one before, calling it a “pre-existing condition” even though it was months apart. This is frustrating because it feels like they’ll use any prior issue to avoid paying, even for common illnesses.

After having Lemonade for my puppy for a year, my premiums almost doubled, and they started denying my claims with weak excuses. My vet even sent them a message explaining that the new issue wasn’t related to the old one, but Lemonade still wouldn’t budge.
