Hi everyone! I’m trying to find the best pet insurance for my young dog and cat, but there are so many options like Spot, Fetch, Trupanion, and Lemonade. It’s really confusing to compare them all. I’d love to hear about your experiences and which companies you think are the best. What made you choose your pet insurance provider?

I went with Lemonade because it was the cheapest option after getting quotes from multiple companies for my two pets. Their website looked professional, and the sign-up process through their app was super easy; I just had to answer a few questions and upload my vet’s documents. It was important for me to have some coverage without breaking the bank for both my dog and cat.

For me, the most important thing was a user-friendly app, and Lemonade’s app is fantastic. I’ve submitted several claims, and the app makes it so easy that I haven’t even needed to talk to a person. Plus, even though the app is great, I still get a personal email from an advocate after each claim, which gives me peace of mind knowing someone is reviewing it.

I chose Figo because they have fast claim reimbursement. I filed three claims with them, and everything was covered as expected. For instance, when my dog had diarrhea in December 2023, the claim was processed within a week, and when she had a nose injury requiring surgery in February 2024, the claim was processed in just two days. Getting paid back quickly is a big plus for me.

Since my dog had distemper as a puppy, which he overcame, I was worried about pre-existing conditions. I was advised that anything pre-existing wouldn’t be covered. Because of this, I decided to get quotes from several companies that might be more understanding of cured pre-existing conditions, even though it’s generally a risk.
