Hey everyone, I’m trying to pick the best pet insurance for my dog, but there are so many companies like Lemonade, Trupanion, Healthy Paws, and Embrace being mentioned. It’s hard to know which one is really worth it. I’m looking for advice from people who have actually used pet insurance. What company do you have, and what’s your experience been like? Any insights would be super helpful!

I went with Lemonade because it seemed affordable, and their app was really easy to use. I pay about $50 a month now for my 10-year-old dog, and they even sent a personal email after each of the claims I submitted. My dog had a tumor removed that cost around $650, and my plan helped with that. I’m in my third year with them and even insured my new puppy with Lemonade too because of my good experience.

I chose Trupanion, and while it can be pricier, I feel it’s worth it for the coverage. I work at an ER/specialty vet clinic, and I’ve seen them cover big neurosurgery bills around $13,000, where the owner only paid a couple hundred. For my own dog, my monthly premium is around $100 with a $500 per condition deductible, and they made a decision on my first claim within two days and deposited the money quickly.

I have Healthy Paws, and thankfully, when my puppy broke her leg, they covered 80% of the costs after my deductible. I’ve only been paying $32 a month so far, and they’ve paid out over $5,000 for her leg. It was a relief knowing I wouldn’t have to worry as much about the big bills.

I use Embrace, and even though my Sheltie is almost 14 years old, they’ve covered almost 80 medical claims over his life for things like pneumonia. While my premiums have gone up as he’s gotten older, they’ve consistently covered what I expected, with only one minor issue not fully covered.
