I’ve had Lemonade for about two years for my dog, and they reimbursed me within 48 hours for a $2000 vet bill for a stomach issue. Later, they also quickly reimbursed me for my dog’s cancer removal, which was even more expensive. My premium hasn’t even gone up significantly, so my experience has been positive.

I switched to Petsbest insurance after Lemonade denied my first claim of $150, claiming my kitten had pre-existing health problems. Then, for another claim involving nasal congestion and constipation, they took ten days to deny it, first saying it was pre-existing and then citing a waiting period. They seem to find any reason not to pay.

I waited over 30 days for Lemonade to conclude two claims and only received auto-generated generic emails. They are quick to respond if you try to cancel, though, which makes me think their priorities are backwards when it comes to customer service and claim processing.

Even though Lemonade advertises 2-day waiting period for accidents and 14 days for illnesses, some users have reported waiting weeks or even months for claim processing, especially for larger amounts. This delay can be incredibly stressful when you’re facing mounting vet bills.

My dog had emergency surgery that should have been covered at 80%, but Lemonade denied my claim because they mistakenly thought I had another insurance policy. I only have Lemonade, and dealing with this error has been a nightmare.
