I was curious about Embrace’s extra wellness plan for things like regular checkups and medications, but someone on here said those plans “usually isn’t worth it or evens out if you pay out of pocket”. They said you might end up paying the same amount in the end whether you have the extra plan or not.

My experience with Embrace’s customer service was not good. When they tried to say my dog’s normal puppy cough from before was a “pre-existing condition” to deny a later claim, they were really difficult to deal with. Even after my vet wrote a long letter explaining why it wasn’t related, Embrace still refused to pay, and their customer service was “TERRIBLE”.

I’ve been with Embrace for a while now, about 7 years, and while my monthly payments have gone up from around $65 to $120, they’ve also paid out a lot for my purebred boxer, something like $25,000 for emergency vet visits, surgeries, and other issues. For me, even with the price increase, the amount they’ve covered makes it worth it.

I tried to get a claim for my dog’s liver problems covered by Embrace, but they denied it saying a case of “bloody stool” from almost three years before was a pre-existing condition. I had already paid about $1400 for tests and medications, and now I’m paying around $90 a month for insurance that doesn’t seem to want to cover anything for me.

After my Embrace premium almost doubled from $165 to $230 a month even though my 5-year-old large breed dog had no claims, I started looking at other insurance companies. Other companies were quoting me around $170 a month with terms that looked much better for what I’d have to pay if something big happened. It felt like Embrace was getting too expensive for what they offered.
