I’ve been happy with Progressive, and when I last checked, they were the most affordable option for me. I even had to file a claim when my car was totaled, and the process was simple. It might be worth revisiting your quote from them, especially since you mentioned they were the cheapest so far.

My Geico premium went up too, around $42 per month when I lost my low mileage discount. It seems like you should keep checking around because insurance rates really depend on your zip code. You might find a new company in South Florida with better rates.

I had State Farm in Hawaii, and even after my wife and I each had an accident, our rates only went up slightly when we added a second car. My rate for a 2021 Toyota Highlander is $68.35 a month, which feels like a good deal. Maybe get another quote from them specifically for your Miami location.

I’ve used USAA for about 20 years because my dad was in the Air Force, and I pay $112 a month for my 2021 VW Jetta with no accidents. If you or any family members have served in the military, you might be eligible for their discounts, even if it was a while ago.

I switched from Geico to Progressive and now pay 1/3 of what I was paying before for the same coverage. That gecko can definitely go elsewhere! It really shows how much rates can vary between companies, so don’t settle for the first few quotes you get.
